Travel Italy by Train: day 02-03 La Scala Theatre

La Scala, one of the world’s most famous opera house, was built on August 3, 1778. The theater holds over 3,000 seats and the hall is a horseshoe-shaped auditorium. The ticket center located on the ground floor and the touring area located on the 1st and 2nd floors.

It comes with six rows of boxes. The gorgeous stage has a screen of 26 meters wide, 27 meters tall and 20 meters from the ground. With the lighting effect and vertical architecture, anyone can image the surrounding sound should be comparable to those applied in a movie.

Originally, it was the Church of Santa Maria (Santa Maria alla Scala) before its conversion. Depends on the schedule, sometimes the orchestra is having its rehearsal during the opening hours for tourists.
