Galleria degli Uffizi is the most historical and famous art museum in Florence.
Built in 1560 and finished in 1581, the Medici family was keen on art and had been financially support a lot of great masters at their works, such Leonardo da Vinci and Michelangelo. Generations of art were stored here.
Until the last direct descendant, all the collections were donated to the government and it was opened to the public since 1765.
In more than 100,000 pieces of art, many of which are well known, including Nascita di Venere by Sandro Botticelli, and the Annuntiatio Nativitatis Christi by Leonardo da Vinci.
